Game 1: TK 8 - Wyoming 7

Kylee Hoebeke Powers Thornapple Kellogg Past Wyoming

Kylee Hoebeke hit two home runs and drove in five as TK defeated Wyoming 8-7 on Wednesday.  Hoebeke homered in the third and fourth innings.  The Trojans didn't take the lead until later in the game.  TK was down 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Shelby Robinett singled, scoring two runs.  The Wolves were the first to get on the board int he first when Stowe scored after tagging up.  Adelaide Holderman doubled on a full count, which helped TK tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.  Wyoming jumped back into the lead in the top of the third inning after Lee singled, Castro doubled, and Grossman lined out, each scoring one run.  Hoebeke homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third and to right field in the fourth, helping the Trojans tie the game at six.  Wyoming took the lead in the top of the sixth.  Castro singled, scoring one run, to give the Wolves the leg up, 7-6.  Robinett earned the win for Thornapple Kellogg.  The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and seven runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Stowe began the game for Wyoming.  She gave up eight hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking five.  Robinett and Hoebeke were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Trojans.  TK had a strong eye at the plate, collecting five walks for the game.  Lee and Castro were tought to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Wyoming.  Lee stole two bases.  The Wolves stole four bases in total for the game.

Kylee Hoebeke Drives 4 Runners Home In TK's Victory Over Wyoming

Kylee Hoebeke drove in four runs on three hits to lead Thornapple Kellogg past Wyoming 7-3 in the night cap of the double header Wednesday.  Hoebeke tripled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the second inning, scoring one.  Hoebeke also struck out 10 batters on the day.  The starting pitcher gave up four hits and zero runs over six innings while walking none.  Adelaide Holderman collected the save for TK. Thornapple Kellogg opened the scoring in the first after Chloe Bossenberger singled, scoring one run.  The Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Hoebeke doubled, and Shelby Robinett singled, each scoring a run.  An error, and a triple by Hoebeke helped TK  extend their early lead in the third.  Perez stepped in the circle first for Wyoming.  She surrendered five hits and seven runs (two earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.  Robinett collected two hits for the Trojans in five at bats.  TK turned one double play in the game and didn't commit a single error in the field.  Stowe led Wyoming with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.  Thornapple Kellogg will welcome Catholic Central on Tuesday for their next game.
