Thornapple Kellogg Trojans  Can't Hold Up Against Delton

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans  struggled to get their offense going on Saturday, getting easily dispatched by Delton Kellogg, 15-3.

The panthers got on the board in the first inning.  #2 singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

In the top of the second inning, Thornapple Kellogg Trojans  tied things up at two when Natalie O’Riley homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Delton pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third #3 hit a solo homer and #12 grounded out, scoring one run.

Delton scored 11 runs in the sixth inning.  Panther big bats were led by #1, #3,  #2, #10, #8, and #7, who all drove in runs.

#1 led Delton Kellogg to victory on the rubber. The ace lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Maleah Bailey took the loss for Thornapple Kellogg Trojans . The righty lasted five innings, allowing 11 hits and 13 runs while striking out five.

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans  socked one home run on the day. O’Riley went deep in the second inning.

Bailey led Thornapple Kellogg Trojans  with three hits in three at bats. Delton totaled 14 hits.  #1, #3, #7, and #2 all had multiple hits for the Panthers.

TK 16 - Hastings 0

Robinett of the Thornapple Kellogg Trojans Shuts Out Hastings

Shelby Robinett threw a gem on Saturday for TK , allowing zero runs and besting Hastings by a score of 16-0.

Thornapple Kellogg secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the second inning.  The offensive firepower by the Trojans  was led by Grace Zube, Maleah Bailey, Paige VanStee, Ella Palazzolo, Rachel Shoemaker, and  Kate Caldwell, all driving in runs in the inning.

Thornapple Kellogg got on the board in the first inning when Elaina O’Riley's sac fly scored one run.

The Trojans notched nine runs in the second inning.  Trojan batters contributing to the big inning included Zube, Bailey, VanStee, Palazzolo, Shoemaker, and  Caldwell, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

A single by #8 in the first inning was a positive for Hastings.

Robinett pitched Thornapple Kellogg to victory. The pitcher went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out two.

#3 took the loss for Hastings. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing 11 hits and 16 runs while striking out one.

The Thornapple Kellogg Trojans smacked two home runs on the day. VanStee had a four bagger in the second inning. Zube went deep in the second inning.

TK racked up 11 hits.  VanStee, Bailey, Zube, and Shoemaker each managed multiple hits for Thornapple Kellogg.  VanStee went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead theTrojans in hits.  Thornapple Kellogg stole 11 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. VanStee led the way with four.  Thornapple Kellogg was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Bailey had the most chances in the field with three.
