TK Wrestlers place 3rd at Kent County Wrestling Championship

On Saturday, December 12 the Trojans traveled to Forest Hills Central to wrestle in the 23rd team Kent County Championship. The TK Wrestlers placed 3rd behind Lowell ranked # 1 in division 2 and Rockford ranked #7 in division 1.

TK had two individuals reach the finals, Ashton Corson came away with the championship at 103lbs. with a 12 - 2 over his Rockford opponent. Carter West placed 2nd with a 8-1 loss to his Lowell opponent who is currently ranked #1 in the State. Zack Gibson placed 3rd after losing a heartbreaker in the semi finals to his Lowell opponent who is currently ranked 4th in Division 2 at 112lbs.

Placing 5th for TK were Jackon Curtis at 119lbs. with a pin over a East Kentwood wrestler, Kyron Zoet at 125lbs. with a 10 to 6 victory, Austin Chivis at 140lbs. with a 7-6 win and Adam Bush at 189lbs. with a pin over his Godwin opponent. Placing 6th for TK was Andrew Middleton at 130lbs. 

The Coaching staff was very pleased with how the wrestlers were able to battle back after losing some very tough matches in their early rounds. TK also was awarded the trophy for most improved team. The Thornapple Trojans moved up from 10th place finish last year to 3rd place this year!
