Game 2 Summary:

Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans struggled to get their offense going on Tuesday, getting easily dispatched by Wayland, 15-5.

Wayland opened up an early lead in the second inning when Loomans doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the third inning, Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans tied things up at four when Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans scored one run on a stolen base.

Wayland took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Steensma singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Loomans tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Cassini drew a walk, scoring one run.

Wayland scored seven runs in the fifth inning.  Sikkema, Loomans,  Cassini, and Calkins each had RBIs in the big inning.

#13 got the start for Wayland. undefined surrendered five runs on five hits over five innings, striking out four.

Logan Snelling started the game for Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans. Snelling allowed seven hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out two.  Brody Wiersma threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Wiersma led Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans with three hits in four at bats.  Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Wiersma led the way with two.

Wayland racked up 14 hits in the game.  Steensma, Loomans, Calkins, and Davenport all had multiple hits for Wayland.  Steensma went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Wayland in hits.  Calkins led Wayland with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.

Game 3 Summary:

Mutschler led the Wayland to victory on the pitcher's mound. The pitcher surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out five.

Anson Verlinde was on the pitcher's mound for Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans. The righty surrendered eight runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out three.  Graysen Stahle threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Verlinde led Thornapple Kellogg Varsity Trojans with two hits in three at bats.

Wayland collected nine hits.  Byrnes and Carnavale all collected multiple hits for Wayland.  Byrnes went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Wayland in hits.  Wayland was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Carnavale had the most chances in the field with four.
