Game 1: TK 17 - CC 11

Kylee Hoebeke Drives in Five as Thornapple Kellogg Trojans Wins Over Catholic Central
 

Kylee Hoebeke came to the ballpark and meant business on Monday, driving in five on three hits to lead Thornapple Kellogg Trojans past Catholic Central 17-11 on Tuesday.  Hoebeke drove in runs on a double in the first, a home run in the third, and a home run in the sixth.

An early lead helped propel Thornapple Kellogg Trojans to victory.  Thornapple Kellogg Trojans scored on a double by Hoebeke in the first inning, a single by Sophie Haveman in the first inning, a home run by Ella Palazzolo in the first inning, and a single by Haveman in the second inning.

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans put up seven runs in the third inning.  The offensive onslaught came from home runs by Hoebeke and Palazzolo and a triple by Elaina O’Riley.

Catholic Central scored four runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive onslaught by Catholic Central was led by A Nemecek and A Owen, all driving in runs in the inning.

Shelby Robinett was on the rubber for Thornapple Kellogg Trojans. The righthander allowed nine hits and ten runs over five innings, striking out two.

Owen started the game for Catholic Central. Owen lasted four and a third innings, allowing 12 hits and eight runs while striking out three and walking one.  S Schenborn threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans launched four home runs on the day. Palazzolo had a homer in the first and third innings. Hoebeke went for the long ball in the third and sixth innings.

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans collected 17 hits.  Haveman, Palazzolo, Hoebeke, O’Riley, Rachel Shoemaker, Peyton Stahl, and Grace Zube all had multiple hits for Thornapple Kellogg Trojans.  Hoebeke, Palazzolo, and Haveman all had three hits to lead Thornapple Kellogg Trojans.

Catholic Central totaled 11 hits in the game.  K Ptak, Schenborn, and Nemecek each collected multiple hits for Catholic Central.  Ptak went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Catholic Central in hits.

 

Game 2: TK 12 - CC 1

4-Hit Day for Shoemaker Leads Thornapple Kellogg Trojans Past Catholic Central
 

Rachel Shoemaker was dialed in at the plate on Monday, tallying four hits and leading Thornapple Kellogg Trojans to a 12-1 win over Catholic Central.  Shoemaker singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans fired up the offense in the first inning, when Ella Palazzolo singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans notched four runs in the third inning.  The rally was led by a single by Elaina O’Riley, a fielder's choice by Grace Zube, and a double by Kylee Hoebeke.

Hoebeke was on the rubber for Thornapple Kellogg Trojans. The righthander went five innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

C Rybcki was in the pitcher's circle for Catholic Central. The bulldog went five innings, allowing 12 runs on 17 hits and striking out six.

Thornapple Kellogg Trojans tallied 17 hits in the game.  Shoemaker, Hoebeke, Sophie Haveman, Palazzolo, and Shelby Robinett all collected multiple hits for Thornapple Kellogg Trojans.  Hoebeke and Shoemaker all had four hits to lead Thornapple Kellogg Trojans.

A Nemecek went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Catholic Central in hits.
