Caldwell's Walk-off Picture Perfect Ending In the Thornapple Kellogg Trojans Victory Over Zeeland East

It came down to the wire on Wednesday, with the Thornapple Kellogg Trojans  taking victory on a dramatic walk-off error in the late innings that sealed their victory over Zeeland East.  The game was tied at ten with Thornapple Kellogg batting in the bottom of the eighth when an error scored one run for the Trojans .

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. TK collected seven hits and Zeeland East had seven.

Zeeland East got on the board in the first inning.  K. Carlson drove in one when she singled.

After Zeeland East scored one run in the top of the fifth, Thornapple Kellogg answered with one of their own.  Zeeland East scored when A. Touch drew a walk, scoring one run.  The Trojans  then answered when Maleah Bailey's sac fly scored one run for TK.

Thornapple Kellogg tallied four runs in the third inning.  Paige VanStee, Mo Sprague, and Natalie O’Riley each had RBIs in the frame.

Zeeland East scored three runs in the third inning.  E. Hathaway and M. Hickey each drove in runs during the inning.

Bailey led things off in the pitcher's circle for the Thornapple Kellogg Trojans . Bailey lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out two.

Hickey toed the rubber for Zeeland East. The bulldog surrendered ten runs on seven hits over seven and a third innings, striking out ten.

Thornapple Kellogg racked up seven hits.  VanStee and Sprague each collected multiple hits for the Trojans .  Sprague and VanStee each collected two hits to lead Thornapple Kellogg.  Sprague led TK with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Carlson led Zeeland East with two hits in four at bats.
