Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Forest Hills Eastern HS School

Game Date
Oct 22, 2019

The TK Varsity Volleyball team battled a hard 5 set match against Forest Hills Eastern last night.  The ladies were up by 8 points in the first set 18-10 when FHE started their comeback.  TK continued to battle and held on to the first set to win 25-23.

FHE came back with a furry in set 2 and TK couldn't really do anything right and gave the Hawks the win 10-25.  This is the roller coaster ride we have been on all season, I think I have 2 different teams playing on the court.  We moved on to set 3 and tried to wipe the slate clean.

We struggled at the beginning of set 3 and let FHE get up by as much as 9 points.  We were clawing our way back 1 point at a time, and Ellie Shoobridge stepped behind the service line to begin our comeback by serving 4 points.  Then FHE earned the sideout, but TK was quick to get the ball back and Adrienne Duits stepped behind the service line with us down 17-20.  Duits was able to serve TK to game point.  TK earned the sideout and took set 3, 25-21.

FHE again came back in set 4 and TK again struggled in this set.  We had fewer errors than set 2, but still couldn't string our serves together in this set.  We ended up dropping set 4, 15-25.

FHE was quick to finish set 5, jumping out to a 7 point lead.  We just waited too long to start playing again.  You don't have as much time in the 5th set because it's only a15 point game.  We had too many serving errors in the sets we lost.  When we lost the serve we struggled to get the ball back.  We lost the 5th set 6-15.

Chloe Teachout led with 7 kills and 3 blocks.  Ashley Snyder, Claudia Wilkinson, Tyah Jefferson, and Shoobridge all added 4 kills each.  Shoobridge had 6 aces.  Claudia Lems had 10 assists and Duits added 9.

The team travels to Wyoming on Thursday for another conference match up.
