Game Date
Oct 9, 2019
Score
TROJANS: 3
KELLOGGSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: 0

The TK Varsity Volleyball team had their annual Pink Out game last week vs Wyoming.  The crowd was in full force and painted pink while the girls battled it out on the court.  The ladies battled hard throughout the match and eventually ended up falling to the Wolves in 4 sets, 18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 24-26.  This match was a lot of fun, it was a true battle on the court, we just came up short in the end.  It was awesome to see the crowd and the energy in the gym!  Claudia Wilkinson had 10 kills.  Chloe Teachout had 7 kills, 5 aces, and 3 blocks on the night.  Claudia Lems had 14 assists and added 4 aces of her own.

We went on to play Wayland Thursday night and really struggled to keep momentum and intensity.  We dropped 3 sets to Wayland 12-25, 19-25, 12-25.  Wayland played a strong game, and we didn't.  We had a lot of serving errors and hitting errors, it ended up being too much for us to battle back from.  Claudia Wilkinson had 6 kills, Ellie Shoobridge and Chloe Teachout both had 4 kills, and Shoobridge added 3 aces.  Claudia Lems had 8 assists.

The TK Ladies were able to dig out a win against Kelloggsville Wednesday night for Teacher Appreciation Night.  The ladies were represented by their teachers that have supported, inspired, and helped them grow into the awesome student athletes they are today.  The ladies won the match in 3 sets, 25-10, 25-19, 26-24, but it wasn't without some drama.  I believe we were down by 10 when Adrienne Duits stepped behind the serving line.  She went on to serve us into a tie at 22-22 as TK went on to finish that set 26-24.  We stopped playing for a bit, we were watching instead of moving, covering, and expecting the ball to come back.  We proved to ourselves that we can overcome a large point margin, but we can't stop playing.  We had a great night at the night!  Ellie Shoobridge had 10 kills, Claudia Wilkinson had 7 kills, and Tyah Jefferson added 6.  Claudia Lems had 14 assists and a team high 7 aces.

We get ready for our second round of conference play starting tonight at East Grand Rapids.
