TKHS Athletics Re-Acclimation Training and Conditioning Re-opening
Monday, June 15th - Thursday, June 18th
Monday, June 22nd - Thursday, June 25th
The TK Athletic Department is excited to announce that we have created a comprehensive plan for the re-opening of athletics at TKHS. We also realize that guidelines have been changing rapidly and we feel that this is the best plan at this time to keep our student-athletes health and safety at the forefront. In conjunction with the State of Michigan and MHSAA guidelines for re-opening, we have put together a plan linked here:
Please read the document above thoroughly so the student-athletes come prepared for success. Currently, ZERO competition is permitted but we are able to offer these optional workout sessions to help TK student-athletes re-acclimate to athletics. Our strength and conditioning coordinator and our program coaches are committed to easing our student-athletes back into competitive shape by using a 45-minute workout schedule for eight sessions over two weeks.
After creating the TK Re-Acclimation to Athletics 2020 and using the information from the student survey, we have determined we need to offer two sessions every morning to accommodate the number of student-athletes who plan to attend and still allow for physical and social distancing. The times for grade-level specific workouts are listed below (grade level in 2020-21):
11th/12th Grade Student-Athletes - 7:00-7:45 am
9th/10th Grade Student-Athletes - 8:30-9:15 am
The requirements are listed in the TK Re-Acclimation to Athletics 2020 document but every student-athlete and parent/guardian must complete a form of the TK COVID-19 Participation Ticket and present it to the school official upon arrival to the school facilities on the first day of participation in the workouts. There is a digital version for parents/guardians and student-athletes to sign, check out the link: Digital Summer Athletic Participation Ticket.
Also, don't forget, to expedite the daily COVID-19 Screening Process, check out these three options:
- Student-athlete fills out form daily at home prior to arrival to help expedite the process (check-in and temporal scan)
- Student-athlete completes daily form at check-in station with coach or TKHS staff member
- Student-athlete fills out daily form on phone in parking lot prior to check-in and temporal scan
Remember, these workouts are optional and at this time, we are doing everything we can to provide a valuable, yet safe environment for our student-athletes. TK student heath and safety is of the utmost importance to the TK Athletic Department.
Please contact the TK Athletic office if you have any questions.
